Level 4 - Independent Stalking Advocacy Specialist (ISAS)

Stalking is a pattern of persistent and unwanted attention that makes victims feel scared, anxious and harassed. Stalking may include a range of behaviours, varying from sending unwanted messages, phone calls, visits gifts, following someone to extreme cases of physical abuse or even murder. Research by Sheridan (2005) found that 77% of victims suffer 100 incidents before going to the police, and in 2020 ONS found that only 2% of cases get recorded by the police.
Training for the frontline, by the frontline.

The ISAS course is accredited by OCNLR and is a nationally recognised qualification. Upon successful completion of the course and assessments, you will receive a certificate as an accredited ISAS.

The course is made up of eight training days. The overall timeframe to complete the qualification, including feedback is 4-5 months.

This course is delivered online using Zoom.

The course is worth 15 CPD credits.

Who is the course for?

This course is designed for professionals that are working with victims of crime, primarily working with victims of domestic abuse, stalking and harassment.

Learners are required to have an IDVA qualification or have at least 12 months professional experience supporting domestic abuse victims or victims of crime in an employed or voluntary role.

This course would be particularly beneficial for police staff, to meet the requirements from the recent stalking super complaint that all officers should receive police specialist stalking training.

The trainer is really engaging and very knowledgeable. I chose this course based on the fact that I have attended other training sessions with her before, and feel she is a fantastic trainer. She brings a wealth of experience into the training room, and each session is always well organised. The trainer breaks down the information well, and uses examples from her own practice.
