This CPD accredited training provides a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding and its critical role in protecting domestic abuse victims and their families from harm. Learners will explore the fundamentals of safeguarding, the nature and impact of domestic abuse, and when domestic abuse becomes a safeguarding concern.

This CPD accredited masterclass covers what domestic abuse is and the myths surrounding domestic abuse. It also provides information about different types of domestic abuse, different types of perpetrators, trauma informed practice and risk and safety planning.

The Domestic Abuse, Stalking, Harassment and Honour-Based Abuse Risk Checklist is a multi-agency tool used by most agencies with a focus on keeping victims and their children safe and ensuring perpetrators are proactively identified and managed.

This CPD accredited training course will provide an understanding of how to safety plan within a community response model, understand the roles of MARAC and MAPPA, and how to respond to a survivor in an emergency situation. By the end of the training, you will be confident in safety planning with victims/survivors.

This CPD accredited training course will increase learners understanding of sexual violence, how to respond and refer to specialist agencies. We also explore the myths and misconceptions around sexual violence, and how societal messages impact on victims/survivors, and the support they receive.

This CPD accredited training course will provide learners with an understanding of how and why abusers use technology to perpetrate abuse. We also cover the risk this type of abuse poses to victims/survivors and how to effectively safety plan against these methods of abuse.

Over the past five years, the UK has seen a 43% increase in the reporting of spiritual and ritual abuse. This CPD accredited course equips you with the tools to identify, report, and refer instances of this abuse, ensuring confidence in handling such concerns.

Our thoughts & feelings

On 29th April 2025, two members of the Safer Places team had the honour of representing us at the Houses of Parliament for the launch of a major and highly anticipated new report from the Office of the Domestic Abuse Commissioner.

Safer Places - with the help of other domestic abuse organisations - has sent a letter to all general election candidates in Essex and Hertfordshire to urge them to show how they will support survivors of abuse if elected.
